After countless hours of research and development, Queensboro Marine has designed and assembled the Equalizer skimmer package for offshore spill recovery. Available in a number of different capacities, the Equalizer is based on an oversized, self-adjusting weir that is paired with a reel mounted, floating umbilical. An integrated crane allows for “handsfree” deployment and recovery of the skimmer head, and thus minimizes handling of the skimmer by responders. Furthermore, a robust construction ensures reusability of the system. When matched with an appropriate transfer pump system, the Equalizer III can achieve recovery rates in excess of 350 m3/hr.
